Size S – I have a Rivet & Thread chambray shirt that I love. I’m generally not a fan of high neck, collarless blouses and this one didn’t change my mind.
Drop shoulder. Bad. It’s not a good look to extend my shoulders way out past their natural end. Buttoned all the way up, I looked like a priest. Because of the chambray blue, a lot of prison images came to mind. Needless to say I didn’t get any warm, fuzzies. I will point out that I didn’t try it with a blazer. Perhaps if layered with other things, it will look less chaplain-ish. Alas, I can only give it…
Check out the denim downshift top . I have S and love it. Those side pockets make it unique.
Motorcycle sweater (FA14, A9501, $168) runs XXS – XL. Color choices are heather medium grey and navy. 100% merino wool. Trim: 100% leather. It’s currently on sale for $129.99.
Size S – The fit was fine, so tts. The sweater texture is nice. I like the diagonal weave on the arms.
The leather panel was of nice quality, but it felt uncomfortable. It’s asymmetrical on the chest and it felt like it was in the wrong place. I wanted to move it over just a little bit to center it.
I liked it best unzipped.
Assembly pullover (FA14, $89.50) runs XXS – XL. Color choices are coastal blue (seafoam greenish), heather aubergine, heather camel, heather marsh and true black.
10/17 – On promo for $69.50 + 30% off w/PICKMEUP thru 10/20. Only $7 cheaper than a global 30% off of the full price. I ordered on this promo, recvd it very quickly from a local store and love it all over again.
Size S – heather aubergine – I really liked this color. It’s not too heathered, so there’s still a richness to the shade. I like the open, envelope neckline and the stitching. Notice there’s a criss cross stitched in across the chest. I liked that, too. The size S felt a little big, but I liked the way it felt.
Size XS – heather aubergine – The XS looks about the same as the S, but it fit closer to the body. Closer enough to make the fabric feel itchy. I didn’t like the XS. I prefer the looser, slouchier cut of the S. I also would also want to wear it with just a cami under and not always have to have a long sleeve blouse to combat itchiness. The S was far less itchy.
Size S – black – Same deal as before. I preferred the looseness of the S. Black looked good and like the aubergine, wasn’t too ehathered. I’m 5’0″ and measure 37″ across the fullest part of my chest. I love this sweater, but passed on buying it and I’m glad I did. It’s been ranging from 80F-99F here since I tried it on. In the past, I’ve purchased items at the beginning of a season and forgotten about them by the time they were weather appropriate. As much as I love this sweater, I can see forgetting it’s in the drawer. The upside is that I know what size I need if it sells out and popbacks or I find it on Ebay.
This is one of my favorite sweaters from Madewell.
