Rayner chino (E9356, SP16, $98) runs 000-16. The color is called honey brown (HBR). Online only, FYI.
Size 29 – Here they are. When I pulled them out of the box, I immediately thought of Dickies. You know, the work pants. The cotton canvas has that type of look and feel. They’re not as heavy as they looked, once I pulled them all the way out of the back. There is a heaviness to the fabric, though. Which means the pants don’t flow very well. The rise is on the higher side. I believe it’s described as mid-rise. But there seemed to be extra fabric across the lap area. Not very flattering. I tried them on with the and still, no go. I’m not surprised. I really wasn’t a fan of the fabric or the color, which is more dull than the pics.
Will the real Rayner chino, please stand up? Please stand up. Please stand up. If you listen to Pandora, check out Hip Hop BBQ. It was recommended by a JCA and I love it. They play Eminem on it, hence the lyric borrowing. Although, maybe it’s Rap Strength Training where Eminem lives. In any case, I love both and if you like rap from that era, you’ll love Hip Hop BBQ for sure. The Strength Training channel gets into the rougher stuff like DMX. Whoo boy, I digress.
Look at these pants. Denizen by Levis at Target. The mens department. They’re not wide cut, but other than that, they looked the same to me.
Sorry Rayner chinos. I can’t get get behind you.

Rayner wide-leg jean in crescent wash (C5307, $138) are now $29.99. The color is called crescent wash (CWA). The description doesn’t state that they’re online only.
Size 29 – I like the wash, which isn’t as pronounced in-person as it looks online. On the left, no shoes or additional height of any sort. I’m 5’0″ and have a slightly longer than average inseam for my height, I believe.
On the right I’m wearing the striped strappy heel sandals. Love them! I wear 7.5, but usually take an 8 in J. Crew pumps & wedges. These are 7.5 and they were the right choice. A block heel works with the rectangular cut of the denim. I think a traditional heel would look odd. At least on me. If you’re taller and/or have different proportions then you might have more shoe options to pair with these.
The rise felt slightly lower than the Rayner chinos. By slight I mean about 1/4″ or so lower. There wasn’t the saggy lap/crotch issue with these. I will say that if you have a pouchy belly, particularly in the lower part, these jeans might not help the situation. I paid about $18 (addtl 40% off) for these, so if I only wear them a couple of times that’s fine. I’m really limited on the type of top I can wear with these, but I imagine I will only wear them a few times.
Although denim, the flow of the fabric is much better than the chinos. It won’t really work with a top like this. I’ll need something fitted, but not tight. The volume & length barely work for me, so if you’re short or have a short inseam, you might want to pass.
Great denim & wash. Thumbsup.

Striped fringe scarf ($59.50) – Color choices are ivory black (IVO) and red navy (RNA). Now $44.99. I like the texture. There’s a physical distinction between the ivory (think light ivory) and black. The thread is fuzzy and that bothered me a little because I don’t want it to fuzz up into a rag. The fuzziness makes the lines between the two colors just a little less crisp. But that’s upon close inspection; not far away.
#Stripesick. I don’t know how I thought I was going to ignore this.
