Ann Taylor had a 40% off Friends & Family promo that ended on Sunday. The promo continues, but in a different form to some degree. Take 40% off your purchase with APRIL40. As usual it’s ‘for a limited time.’ I see that it’s still going online today. If you’re planning on visiting the store, be sure to read the legalese. The 40% off is good on your entire purchase, but there are exclusions. For example, the promo is not good on final sale items that are $19.88 or less. Definitely something good to know before getting too carried away about dirt cheap prices.
I went in yesterday to return the Riley strappy patent heels ($158) I shared the other day. I wear 7.5 in most shoes, but like size 8 for sandals & shoes I’ll wear in warmer weather. These are an 8. I still loved them when I got to the store and was still unsure about whether it goes w/my skin color & whether I’ll wear the style. The shoes are comfortable for a thin heel, but I’ve been trying to focus on stroller shoes…ones that are comfortable when I’m pushing a stroller. I tried them on again in the fitting room & they looked good w/a plain job & the jeans I had on. So I kept them for now. I still have some time in the return window.
Trying the shoes on with the poetic tunic
size PM. I ended up with the regular XS. I loved this top when it came
out and I bought it almost right away. It didn’t fit right then, but
maybe that’s because I only tried it in front of my bad mirror. This
price is more fun anyway. $59.99 before the addtl %. It’s sold out online at the moment, but you can do a store search thru the site. The new online review feature is great. The reviewers are right about this one. It’s a heavier weight & has a nice drape. The look is not for everyone. A cami is needed underneath, but the deep v didn’t bother me. I’d wear a bubble necklace with it. BTW, I put this on Facebook awhile back…I ordered an Ebay bubble necklace from seller loveshop80 and I’ve very happy with it. I own 2 retail versions and the Ebay version is close enough. I have it in papaya. It’s probably less saturated than the retail version, but it has a weight close to the real thing and makes a similar sound when jingled. I will try to do an in-depth review in the future. I know, I know, I’m always promising posts. It really will happen, though. I just tried to tweet a photo of it. Fail.
I asked the SA if the neon shoes were selling well and she said they didn’t really seem to be, so I imagine the Riley heels (above) will be around for a low price later. When chatting w/her, I mentioned the flats w/the neon toe and she said there were some on the sale wall. I went to check them out. They’re the Elizabeth pointy flats.
I could make these as seen on Sequins & Stilettos. I doubt I’d get around to it, though. They came with a hot pink toe, bright blue toe, black toe or the yellow toe. No one wants the yellow toed ones so I was able to try 7.5 & 8. The 7.5 fit exactly and I didn’t want to chance that they didn’t stretch, so I took the 8. They’re online for $119.99 and in-store for $89.99 before the additional %. They’re very comfortable. Check them out on Atlantic-Pacific and on Postagious.
I’m looking forward to wearing these soon, but not looking forward to comments from my personal peanut gallery. My husband means well, but cannot resist testing out comedic wisecracks about certain items. I’m sure these little witchy shoes will be a target. I will say I cannot blame him because this little pointy neon cap is just odd. But I like it.
