Switching gears today to talk about skincare. I’ve used M.A.C. cosmetics for years, with M.A.C. Studio Fix being one of my favorite products. My skin started breaking out in small bumps like a rash. Mostly on my forehead. Earlier this year, I visited Rocio at Aesthetica San Francisco and she even said she’d never seen my skin in that condition. I think stress and being ill have taken their toll. However, I also felt that the products I was using needed to be switched out.
I stopped using M.A.C. and switched to Clinique for makeup. I loved it for awhile and then the colors didn’t quite seem to match as well as when I was at the makeup counter and the first couple weeks after. I switched to Chantecaille Future Skin, thinking its ingredients like rosewater would be beneficial. After a month of using it, I decided to discontinue use to see if my bumps would go away. My skin definitely cleared up more, so I returned it. Thank you to Nordstrom for their awesome return policy! I currently use MakeUpForEver Pro-Finish Powder #173, which seems to agree with my skin.
The fine bumps are fewer on my forehead, but still there. So, a couple weeks ago, I decided to try two L’Occitane products from a swag bag they provided at rStheCon (rewardStyle Conference 2015). One is the Divine Youth Oil, I don’t gravitate to skin oils because I always think of them as potential skin cloggers. However, this oil is lightweight and my skin never feels over oiled or greasy.
The second product is L’Occitane Cream Divine, which makes me think of a cold cream of some sort my grandmother used. It has a light fragrance. I do like products that are unscented, but I can live as long as I can’t smell the cream on my face after applying makeup.
I still wouldn’t classify my skin as dry, but it has definitely changed. My skin has improved since using L’Occitane.

Note: I recvd the L’Occitane products at rStheCon. I wasn’t asked to write about the products, but chose to do so because I’m actually using them. I paid for the other products mentioned.
