If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that we went to Disneyland this summer. A day or two after we returned, for some reason I decided to look up the BlogHer Conference.
If you’ve never heard of Blogher, you can check out the About page and have a look around to decide what it means to you. You will see very few fashion blogs on there, if any. There are great storytellers. Prepare to get lost very easily in current, heavy affairs, i.e. The Exercise That Opened My Mind To White Privilege and lighter, amusing fare, i.e. 11 Ways to Organize Your Playroom for Moms Who Hate Toys, Playing, and Pinterest.
I vaguely recalled that the actress, Kerry Washington was going to speak at a BlogHer Conference and I wondered if it had already happened. When I looked up the info I learned that yes, she was going to speak and that the conference was a little less than a week away! Not only that, but it was a simple, 1-hour car ride away from me. All I had to consider was the event fee and whether to get a hotel or drive back-and-forth. So I went. I had an awesome time even though I had a breakdown.
I’ve received some post-conference emails from BlogHer and my photo was in the email I recvd yesterday! I found a couple more in the official photo stream. This is close to noon on Day 2. If there were 2 breakout sessions I wanted to attend at the same time, my strategy was to go to one for half the time and then go to the second one. This is a second one and the room was full so I’m hugging the doorway.
This outfit was awesomely comfortable. Can I just tell you that it’s weird to write this and then (aftetr 6 years!) have a photo of me here as well? lol I’m writing in my journal (on Amazon). Some interesting and fantastic things have happened since I started writing declarations again, this summer. Non sequitur. Next time you’re in Sephora, try hair products. My hair has been so dry and the other day I rediscovered Phyto Hydrating Day Creme while messing around in the store.

Here’s a cool, white necklace by Kenneth Jay Lane (on sale). Forever 21’s pearl cluster is back & here’s another one
I’m sure I’m in the Grand Ballroom, which means I’m listening to a keynote speaker, as opposed to being in a breakout session. That’s a polite, amiable smile. I’ve been going non-stop this summer and was fairly tired even though I’d driven down the nite before. On this day, I burned a lot of energy feeling nervous even though I wasn’t speaking, and there were no other daunting reasons to have anxiety. I think one nail biter was that I hadn’t shown my face here on the blog. I was fine with meeting people irl and introducing myself at the conference. I just hoped that *I* would be the one that shared my face and it not happen in any other way than I had envisioned. Thankfully, I got my way. If you missed the reveal click here.
This is totally a ‘me’ face. I didn’t realize how often I did it until Mini G went thru a phase of scrunching her nose.

p.s. J. Crew’s quilted denim pencil skirt initially sold out at full price. A number of sizes have popped back and SHOPNOW gets 25% off.
I’m enjoying the new fragrance, No. 31. I hope you get a chance to test it out in the near future. If you like it, get the rollerball like I did. I won’t think you’re cheap ;). I carry mine around in my purse, in a glamorous Ziploc bag, along w/my lip glosses.
And in this post I shared my impressions of new arrivals and text reviews of a few that I tried on.
