J. Crew’s metallic gingham popover (E9850, $88) runs 000 – 16. It sold out in the first week it arrived, but some sizes pop back. I’m wearing a 6 and it fit tts for me.
Last year’s washed lamé dress (review) was cut similarly through the shoulders. I sized down in that to a 4, but not this top. It’s slightly big through the shoulders and under the arm, but not in the rest of the body. It seems they have kept the dolman cut and wide armholes, but reigned in the proportion.
ETA: I have since tried on the 4 and it fits better through the shoulders and chest. As I expected, it’s not as loose in the waist. I think the 6 is not perfect, but is more flattering.
Size 4 – chest = 38″, waist 37 3/4″
Size 6 – chest = 39″, waist = 38 3/4″
I thought the metallic would be a bit much, but it’s not at all. It has the perfect shine, but not over-the-top for day wear. Wearing it in the day will depend on your situation. It isn’t something that I ever would expect to wear in front of a video camera because of the print or shine.
Who Wear Wear (Instagram) quietly, imo, released a line at Target this past February. They are releasing a number of new items each month, as part of an ongoing collaboration. The collaboration currently has no end date. Most of the items I’ve tried on are $29 – $35. I do believe they use polyester. The fit on most items is very flattering and makes me forget about fabric content.
This skirt ran tts for me, sz 6 (39″ hip). I usually wear 6 or 29 in denim. It has a mid to high rise. I was able to fit into the 4, but it wasn’t as flattering across the front as the 6. You might want to take the smaller of your 2 sizes if you’re in-between and don’t have a full shape on the bottom.
