Long No. 2 pencil skirt in abstract leopard (regular 64912, petite 76224, $138) – Now $99.99 online. 98% cotton, 2% elastane. Lining 100% poly.
Size 4 – waist = 29.5″, hips = 38.25″
Size 6 – waist = 30.5″, hips = 39.25″
Size 4 – Take your regular J Crew pencil skirt size in this one, imo. If you are between sizes, size down one. I say that because I am still poochy in the stomach in these pics and the size 4 fit. I see a lot of colors that can work in w/the print. Black, white, of course. Navy could poooossibly work. Neon yellow, purple like the Tippi sweater in bright plum (so pretty!) and possibly green. The orange shoes are working with this. Check it out on 1 More Shopping Blog, on Ema and on Handbag Aficionado.
Café capri in abstract leopard (64914, $148) – Now $109.99 in-store & online. The styling & product shot do nothing to sell the pants.
Size 6 – The print wasn’t any more thrilling irl than online, but I tried them on anyway for the blog. Maybe I’m an 80s child, but these pants felt so cool. Hip, fun, chic and just a tad wild. Not garishly so. I tried on the 6, thought they fit fine, maybe a little loose. I’ve tried a 4 and the fit was better. I think these will stretch out during the day so take the smaller of your J Crew pant sizes. There is a chance I am in a size 4, but I think these are the 6. I got them on the promo. I think they look crazy and will go down in price for much less, but I want to wear them right away and not play the pricing game. I expect to get a good cost/wear out of these even if I only wear them now and then at the beg of fall. See them on on The Chic Chauffeur.
4/12 – ETA – I tried it on – Size 6 – I’m hoping I go back to a 4. If I don’t, I will have a lot of clothes to get rid of and that is not a pretty thought. At any rate, I needed the 6 in this to accommodate my chest & back. My guess is to take your regular dress size. If you think you might need the extra chest room, consider contacting cs first for measurements before committing. I am measuring 36″ across the fullest part of my bust. Still 5’2″.
What a pose will do. Makes the dress look 10x better. Not that it needs a lot of help. It was more flattering than I expected. As far as chest exposure. It will depend on your shape & where they sit that will determine if you will be flashing cleave or not.
My imaginary heels. And pockets! The dress has some shirring at the waist, however, that’s not what’s creating the pooch. That’s just my stomach right now. You would think the shirring & print would make everything look worse, but I felt the opposite. I rather liked this dress. Be aware that the skirt portion fits more like a bell than a pencil skirt. It wasn’t fitted. I liked it looser and the skirt doesn’t need to be fitted like a pencil skirt, but I would consider getting it tailored. Dina G said that this is great for a pear shape. I’m not pear shape, but based on trying it on & her description of it on The Mothership, I agree. If you have a smaller waist & larger bottom, the looser skirt will work for you. So you might want the dress over the pencil skirt. You can always treat the dress like a skirt. Check it out n Colorful Corporate and on Slastena.
Denim shirt. It’s a maternity shirt, I think. I’m totally about the denim shirt tied this spring. I feel like it’s a new invention.
