J Crew’s café capri in gilded dot brocade (22121, $148) run 00-14. The color is called gilded melon jacquard (GMJ).
Size 4 – waist = 32.75″, hip = 39.25″
Size 6 – waist = 33.75″, hip = 40.25″
Size 4 – I couldn’t believe these fit. I’ve always been on the fence in JC sizes. As my 5 lbs play hide-and-seek, it’s hard to gauge if things are running big or I am smaller on a given day. My guess is to take the smaller of your JC sizes because I’ve been taking 6 in these types of pants and the size 4 fit. These are unlined.
A low heel would help with the length and create a leaner line. I would still consider getting them hemmed 1/2″ – 1″. Check them out on ShOperaRach (scroll down).
My thighs like to be next to each other. I’d wear a longer, flowy shirt to hide the fact.
Slight tailoring in the back thigh area — without getting tight at all — would create a better look. If you didn’t like the aqua color of the gilded brocade capris (review) and like peach, you might prefer these.
Cork belt (14919, $39.50) – Size L – It was the only one on the rack. I would take a S or M. My waistline changes, but belts aren’t consistent at J Crew either. A medium would definitely work, but might not cinch enough if I was looking to tighten my pants. I would have to try either the S or M to figure out which was best. I like to match my accessories and of course this goes with the invitation clutch in cork (review).
