J Crew canvas military skirt (34685, $59.50) runs 00-12. The online color choices are black and surplus (green). 17 1/2″ long. Machine wash.
Size 6 – This fit was good for me. It’s on the longer side, compared to what we’ve seen in recent seasons. The skirt is very sturdy and reminds me of ‘old’ J Crew. It does pass the F21 test, in my book. I’m certain you can find something similar at F21, however, it won’t have the weight that of this cotton. Check it out on Ema and on Shop With M.
Size 6 – This color, burnished moss olive (BMO) is currently retail only (still the case as of 1/24). I liked it w/the black tights. Not sure how this shade would play on my brown legs, but I liked it.

Marc by Marc Jacobs – Is this skirt a dead ringer or what. The $238 price tag is not.
Long drawstring skirt – Going way the other way in length…I got this a couple weeks ago (M).It arrived w/a small defect so I returned it to the store. You know F21 is store credit only, so I came home and re-ordered it online along with this hearts cardi (S) to qualify for fs. (It’s been on the sidebar for almost a week.) I had to think all this thru and decide if I wanted to bother w/the skirt or keep as-is. It took a second to make up my mind, but F21 is fairly close so it was worth it. The things I do for fashion. The re-buy arrived w/out a defect.
Camille, author of Childhood Flames, looks gorg in her thrifted skirt. I’ve also seen shorties like Nicole Ritchie and the Olsens wear the trend. Their longer hair balances out the look, imo, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
There was a J Crew site update overnite. It didn’t make a huge jump in numbers, but some coveted items popped back for people. I didn’t notice any new styles. I noticed price changes in the velvet schoolboy blazer ($59.99 to $49.99) and Miller high-heel motorcycle boots ($249.99 to $199.99). I’m not sure when it happened, but the long Benny blazer (irl pics) finally got cut to $39.99. The price it was cut to at the b&m in late Oct. Nothing else jumped out at me.
