Earlier today I reviewed the dizzy anchors dress, midsummer maxidress & filigree embroidered beach dress in this post. And now two more J Crew reviews:
Anchors aweigh pant – size 6 (77772, $158) – First up, that’s the crewneck tee in henna. It’s a great color for fall, so grab it if you see it. It’s like a dollar in the b&m. No, srsly it’s around $14.99 + 40% off. I’m wearing a M. Up one from my former size S in these tees. The anchor pants! Soooo comfortable. You will feel like you’re in your pjs. I think if I wear flats w/them they will feel more casual like I’m wearing my pjs outdoors. If I wear heels & maybe a blazer, they will definitely read as pants. See them on Notes From the Dressing Room and on A Trail of Sequins.
I am not sure I will wear a blazer with because it may look heavy on top
when paired w/the pants, esp w/the extra weight I’m currently carrying
in my torso. No, not preg with #2. Thank you extra fat for staying in a cute, round ball. — lol — I might try the schoolboy eyelet blazer
(online only, I got a 6) with them to see if it’s interesting &
cool looking. The pants are currently $59.99 online. I got them with an
addtl 30% off. You can steal them with OURTREAT for an additional 40% off thru tonite, Wed, 7/18.
Café capri in Caribbean tweed – size 8P (regular 79169, petite 87230, tall 87348, $158) – They’re an online only item & as of today are cut to $39.99. I tried both the 6 and 8P. The 6 fit fine (not pictured). I didn’t like the longer length. Sometimes I do prefer the regular size in the capris, but in this case I preferred the shorter, petite length. The fabric is not itchy. There is no stretch, so if you got back, baby, and vacillate between two sizes consider taking the larger of your two.
They will look more sleek, as sleek as I can, with heels. Hoping the navy Valentinas rock it. The tweed and colors are quite preppy. A navy blazer should look cure with this. I’m sure there are other colors to pull out, but I don’t have the pants in front of me right now.
I am totally shopped out and will be making some returns. I saw AJC’s gorgeous sneak peek of the fall collection. I’m with those of you saying bye-bye to summer when I see those pics. However, I will not get caught up in the hype. I know that our summer goes thru Oct and sometimes as late as Nov with bright sun, so I should be able to use my purchases well for a few months coming.
