J Crew’s chiffon dot top (24168, 0-16 not sure if it came in 00, 34348 P00-P12) comes in dublin green, navy and warm ivory. Dublin green is currently sold out online. All 3 colors are available in-store. Silk/cotton, dry clean.
Size 4 – I had zero interest in a sheer top, but I wanted to try this on to share pics. I should know by now that zero interest/just for the blog is a weak spot for crewlade to seep thru. My defenses are usually down because I’m not expecting to like it. I liked it. I was thinking something like this could be found at Forever 21. They actually have a mint swiss dot peplum top right now. I’ve seen it a few times in-store (sold out online). Of course it’s all small and tight and junior-y and Forever 21-y. I would never even bother trying it on, but it looked pretty good, in case you’re teeny. Check it out on Feeling J Crewzy, on Stethoscopes, Style & Grace and on J Crew Is My Favorite Store.
I knew size 4 was a step in the right direction, but I wasn’t convinced it was the right size. It has a very loose fit. Unfortunately, my fitting room time is limited these days, so I usually only try what I brought in. I don’t want to run a sales associate for something I’m pretty sure I’m not buying. It’s loose thru the body and seems loose enough thru the shoulders & arms to size down one more to a 2. Note, I’m taking 4,6 or 8 these days. Lots of size 6. Definitely size down on this one, imo.
For some reason, I could not resist what I call the blogger lean. When I really like something, I usually move my body to express the joy. Usually only in the confines of the fitting room or at home. Because yes, you guessed it, I almost fell over.
Of course I like how the little chiffon dots look like bows. This is how sheer it is. You definitely need a cami of some sort underneath. If you’re doing something else with this…uh, have fun.
