J Crew’s cross-back dress in vintage plaid (SU16, F3476, $98) runs regular XXXS – XL. The color is called coral multi (CMU). 100% cotton, 100% cotton lining, contains non-textile parts of animal original. Made in Indonesia. This dress is online only.
Size S – On jcrew.com, a couple of reviewers expressed disappontment with the color. I don’t remember their exact complaints, but I didn’t find it to be too neon-y or too dull. The blues and pinks harmonize and the color pattern is as fresh in-person as it in online. Probably a bit more vibrant in-person than online. The fabric is very lightweight. Notice that it’s in the beach cover up section, so it wasn’t a surprise to me.
I can’t with these necklines. Too low for me. The dress isn’t as long as I expected it to be on me. It works as a midi on me. The elastic waist isn’t the greatest match for my shape, but I can tell the dress is TTS. For size reference, I’m 5’0″, 34DD and 39″ hip.
If you’re on the shorter side, like I am, the straps will be at least a little long.
The gingham scarf got a second cut. These two colors are now $29.99, the red (not pictued) is $24.99. Stores had an additional 50% off still going as of Tue, 6/28, making this $14.99. I think the addtl 50% off will continue thru the 4th of July. Click here for the original review of the scarf.
Let’s revisit the linen metallic dress with grommets – I tried on this dress in size 4 ( original review) and it fit well. I thought it would fit better on me in petite and I was correct. I’m 5’0″ and the shorter length of the petite looks better. This is a 6P, which is a regular 4 equivalent. I don’t know what type of shoes I would wear with this. A metallic shoe might compete and a gold shoe might not match the gold grommets. Maybe a nude color? Thumbsup again on this dress.
