J Crew crossover pencil skit in plumeria jacquard (SU, $118) runs 000-16 (C5905) and petite 00-12 (C6176). The color is called neon persimmon. 50% poly, 40% viscose, l00% poly lining.
7/9 – 2nd cut to $39.99
Size 6 – It fits TTS. However, I wasn’t able to get that last part of the skirt zipped at the band. I tried it on another day and was able to zip it all the way. Life with a fluctuating waistline! Mine isn’t very defined to begin with. You probably won’t have to struggle with the zipper if you have a narrower waist. I’m back on the The Sleep Diet (bottom of the post) I’ve been using Sleep Cycle and learned that I’m averaging 4.5 hrs sleep/nite. Not good. Not good at all. Correcting my sleep tends to help me lose a at least a few lbs.
Back to the skirt. It sits very high on the waist, which takes some getting used to. Personally, if I bought this it would force me to think outside of my usual styling fallbacks. Which is a good thing.
Left pic – I’m wearing the linen swing sweater (SU15, C5275, $75) in size S. I’d try the XS and if that didn’t work, I’d try the petite size. I have a couple linen swing or linen boyfriend sweaters from J. Crew that fit better than this one it. It felt sloppy. Sizing down might be the cure. Note that you can see the skirt thru the sweater, so that gives you an idea of opacity.
ETA: I tried on the skirt another day and sat down in it. They didn’t cut enough fabric and unless you want to flash a lot, you’ll have to be very mindful of how you sit in it.
I liked the chambray + skirt, but I really liked it when I put on the pearl twisted hammock necklace and Swarovski crystal necklace I had on that day. Check out Kate Spade’s shaken not stirred necklace (video review), which is a triple strand of pearls & rhinestones. It nets $75 with YOURS thru tonite, 5/26.
I highly recommend the Anne Klein Petricia that I have on. They’re my new Ceces and run TTS.
ETA: Looks great when you’re standing up. Will be a challenge to sit in and not flash a lot of your personal business.
WEEKEND gets 30% off your order at jcrew.com thru Tue, May 26. Select items, like the Ikat wrap dress (review) are excluded. Most things go on sale. Or you can wait to see what they will release in this print on the Factory side.
I’ve only been reviewing one item at a time because that’s what’s been working well for me, time-wise. I will try to combine multiple items in a review post when I’m able.
