Double-breasted gold-button blazer ( 21114, $128, online only) runs XXS – XL. The color choices are navy and vintage burgundy. Machine washable.
Size S – All right, so my white cargo pants aren’t really helping things, but that’s what I happened to have on when I tried this on. I recvd it in the mail and went straight to the store to try things on and decide what to keep/return. I love this color for fall. J Crew bumps up the burgundy in tone and warmth, creating a hue that we will likely not see anywhere else. For that they always get a big thumbs up. Check it out on Shop With M. and on Vicky’s Daily Fashion.
Here is is open. Of course you can see that, but I like to narrate my photos. 😉
Full length pic. It’s totally looking like I’m about to bring you a shrimp cocktail, doesn’t it? It’s just the white pants. The blazer does what it’s supposed to do. It’s knit, so it’s casual, yet it has a little shape w/the double-breasted aspect.
Shot of the interior. I mostly thought of Forever 21 when I was in this. I have a double-breasted stripe blazer from them and the construction is not as good as the J Crew blazer, but it’s still nice for what it is. A knit blazer. And I’m going to dig up that pic so you can see it.
This stripe blazer is by Forever 21. It’s white w/navy stripes. The medium heft is there, not too heavy, not to thin/cheap/light. The cute blue lining when you turn up the sleeves. I never had any intention of buttoning it, but if I did that would work, too.
Banana Republic navy double-breasted blazer runs 00-16. 67% Cotton, 33% Rayon. Dry clean. I haven’t seen it, but it’s clearly a traditional blazer with more structure than the J Crew knit offering.
If you didn’t already figure it out, the J Crew gold-button blazer did not pass my F21 test. I could totally see it hanging there. Not in the same color. Not even in a similar color. And it probably wouldn’t be made aaaas well, but the JC blazer said $40 to me. Not $128 (fp) and not the $70 I got it for with promo price +30% off. There are plenty of other things in the burgundy color to consider like the classic merino cardigan and Tippi sweater.
