Elsie suede pumps (A4969, $245) run in half sizes from 5 – 11, 12. Color choices are black, hedgerow (dark green) and tidewater.
Size 7.5 – tidewater – This was a display shoe, not a new or relatively fresh shoe that was brought from the back for me to try. Which means that a number of people have probably put their foot in it. I always imagine some people who are larger than the display size will try their foot if they feel close enough to the size. I always figure there’s a possibility the shoe has been stretched out.
All that said, I wear 7.5 and usually take an 8 in J. Crew pumps. The size 7.5 fit comfortably. I have my doubts because if you see the shape of my foot compared to the shoe (left pic), there could be some crowding issues in the toe box. The toe box tapers. My foot does not. I guess if I did go for the 7.5 and found it to be snug, I could have to stretched to fit and feel well.
I don’t know about that toe cleavage, though. It’s just a little too much for my taste. Is there anyone out there with attractive toe cleavage or is it always weird looking?
I adore the tidewater blue and would wear it as-is with the green and grey.
Collection Elsie metallic d’Orsay pumps (E5002, $298) run in half sizes from 5 – 11, 12. The color is called metallic gold (MGO).
Size 7.5 – Metallic is consistently one of J. Crew’s strengths and these do not disappoint.
I was really enamored with these.
One of my two bracelets is J. Crew’s pavé bracelet from a few years ago. The current offering ($125) has smaller links. Personally, I prefer the larger links. I also prefer the retail version over the Factory option ($36.50). Similar bracelets avail at Baublebar ($64) and Target ($19.99).
Elsie glitter pumps (E5002, $265) – I see sizes 5.5 – 10 on the website at the moment. The pumps are now $199.99. The color is called green blue glitter (GBG). Check them out on Instagram @inawonderland5 and @milljcrew.
Colette suede D’Orsay pumps (E0795, $248) run in half sizes from 5-10, 11, 12. Color choices are ashen brown, black, california poppy and tidewater. What’s the difference between these and the Elsie suede pumps? $3, to start with.
Colette – 3.5″ heel, leather lining & sole, Made in Italy
Elsie – 3.25″ heel, leather lining & sole, Made in Italy
The Colette is a little higher than the Elsie. The Colette is new as of this year, so are they phasing out of the Elsie? I don’t know why they bothered. I’m still attached to Juliet, Martina and Valentina. I own and wear them all the time. I would think to keep one of those and the Colette or the Elsie. Not have two shoes that are so similar. At least they seem that way to me. (squirrel! =>) This red is very pretty.
Madewell’s Mira heel ($168) reminds me of the Elsie. I’ve tried it on and, like J. Crew pumps, going up a 1/2 size to 8 made it a good fit. The heel height is 3 3’4″.
The Madewell’s Mira midi heel ($168) is a new offering. I really love a midheel. I get a little lift, but they’re completely manageable. I never feel like I’m hobbling around at any point of the day. The heel height is 3″.
