Factory navy anchor collector tee (A3145, $45) runs XXS – XXL. The color is called navy ivory (NIV).
Size XS – The website says the fabric has a breezy feel and a slightly heathered texture. Linen/cotton. Standard fit.
The product description seems to be for a different item. The fabric felt like a thicker cotton. I didn’t feel anything breezy about it. The texture wasn’t heathered either. I don’t recall it being a linen/cotton blend. I thought it was 100% cotton. The fit isn’t standard, imo. The S was big. The XS is more fitted, but it looks better than the S. The S almost fit like a tunic. If you’re in the store, remember that two size smalls might fit differently. I didn’t think of trying another S. I do think sizing down is best if you want to ensure a tighter fit.
The size of the anchor is big and bold, but I only liked the way it looked from the front and not from the side. The neckline didn’t want to lay flat.
Factory stripe pullover hoodie (SP14, 50480, $64.50) runs XXS – ? The color choices are heather grey & nav coral drop.
Size S – heather grey – TTS. I’m not a huge microstripe fan, but the colors are subtle. I love grey. It’s a cozy, thick sweatshirt, but not too heavy. Sometimes there isn’t a difference in quality between retail & factory, but in this case this feels like retail. I like the kangaroo pocket. I wore this a couple of times recently, washed & dried without babysitting and it turned out fine. No shrinkage or other quality issues.
Printed cotton sateen mini (SP14, 27112, $68) – Not seeing this one online yet. It was the floral stripe print on the retail side. The color code is RED, for red. 98% cotton, 2% spandex. This print also comes in shorts & a tank.
ETA: $39.97 in-store on 5/1
Size 8 – I’m a 6 and tend to go to 8s in the mini skirts to wear it lower on the hip. Well, if I were to purchase I would go for an 8. I can’t remember the last time I ever bought one of these minis. I’m short, but still think these skirts need more length. Sure, it’s supposed to be a mini, but this length got old long ago. If I thought J Crew was creating them as a style choice, I wouldn’t join the chorus of complaints. I think it’s a cost cutting measure, so it
I have on the factory layering crewneck tee (33514, $26.50) in size M. I don’t see the color online. The code is FBO. Go figure. Online, I like cerulean sea. Back to the skirt. I like the pockets. They blended into the lines of the skirt well and didn’t add weight.
Don’t size up. It’ll be a mess.
The striations in the fabric create some opacity, which we know can be an issue w/white shorts, pants and denim. I have on black undies, which you don’t want to do, obviously. I’m being specific to say the color isn’t showing thru too much.
I really liked the retail versio. I might feel the same about these if I were in the correct size. I do think they’re done a little cheaper, quality wise, than the retail.
Factory Keating boy blazer in chambray (41689, $138) runs 00-16. It’s now $68.99 online. The color is called cool blue (CBL). I only see 00 at the moment. Remember that there are popbacks.
Size 6 – I’m wearing it with the embroidered bib top in suckered stripe (sz 4, review), which doesn’t offer a lot of contrast for photos. I probably wouldn’t wear the two together, but it kinda of works.
If I got an 8, I could close both buttons, but it would be too big in other areas. I never button my blazers, so 6 is the best size.
