Firework floral skirt (SP15, C0118, $98) runs 000 – 16. The color is called dark cognac (DCO). 100% cotton, 100% poly lining.
Size 8 – This is the size I look for in this silhouette. The 8 fit tts for me. Unlike the textured block print skirt (review) that I love, I don’t think I could take my smaller size of 6. It sits high on the waist. If you have a straight figure with little waist definition, keep that in mind. I’m 5’0″, to give you an idea of length. I liked the length. It was on the shorter side, but didn’t feel like a mini. I guess it might feel much shorter if you’re tall and/or have long legs.
I loved it. It has a slight a-line shape & pockets!
I like the print. It’s not my favorite J. Crew print ever, but I like it. I think if it were fall, I’d feel more excited about it. The colors are a bit dark for spring.
The cotton exterior felt so great, the fabric is heavy and the cut looked nice that I didn’t let myself get the exposed zip blues.
There’s also the Collection sequin firework floral skirt ($550).
Indigo gauze popover shirt (SP15, B8210, $78) runs 000 – 16. The color is called indigo (IND). 100% cotton.
Size 6 – This fit tts for me in the shoulders and arms. It felt a little looser thru the body, but not enough to size down. Sizing down wouldn’t work in the shoulders. The chemical wash smell was very powerful and gave me a headache. I had to get it out of the small fitting room as soon as possible. I would wash it with a Shout color catchers, before wearing it, to remove some of the possiblity of color transfer.
Slim cargo pant ($89.50) run 000 – 16 (C0487) and tall 2 – 16 (C3511). Color choices are classic green, coal grey, navy and warm shell. 98% cotton, 2% elastane.
Size 6 – classic green – They’re slim alright. Noticeably in the thigh area. My usual size 6 fit as I would expect them to. The cargos tend to stretch a little when you wear them, so I wouldn’t size up, personally. TTS, imo. They seem to be pretty straight on the sides, so if you have hips they might not be a match. I’m only guessing.
I do know that the long pockets were a tad too long on me a 5’0″. It isn’t noticeable at first glance. On closer inspection it looks like the pants want to have motorcycle seaming in various places, but they forgot to add it. Again, this is my analyzing the pants under a fitting room microscope. If you see the pants walking down the street, they will look like cargos and that’s it.
The waistband looks better covered. I don’t know if this fit is for me, but J. Crew and their colors, so I wishlisted the coal grey. I want to try on the drapey chinos ($88) when I see those. I don’t know about that wide elastic waistband, though.
