J Crew’s half-placket dress (02758, $168) runs 00-14. Hammock green is $89.99 online and marked $129.99 in-store on 9/24. Neon amethyst is $69.99 online. Boo on polyester.
Size 8 – I’ve been 6 or 8 in J Crew dresses, depending on the waist. I’m not sure the 6 would fit well in the waist. Maybe in the morning, but not by the afternoon (slaps knee). I’m not sure 8P would be the right size either. I’m only 5’2″, but petite clothes don’t always fit me better than regular sizes.
The color is great. The dress has pockets, fyi. On the upside, the waist is lower than it has been in J Crew dresses. It’s not a match for my figure, though. The design is plain, but it’s a good transitional fall dress. You can layer up with a cardigan & belt when it’s cool in the morning. Some of you like to layer under, which would make it work appropriate if showing your arms is against dress code or in bad taste.
Keyhole dress in square dot (FA13, A3133, $178) ran up to size 14. Only 8-14 available at the moment. The color is called tuscan grape. Style numbers usually don’t have letters in this, but this one does. 100% viscose, 100% poly lining.
Size 8 – The keyhole is lower irl than it looks in the pics.
I like the print, even though it’s not or me personally. I can see Wilma Flintstone in it. The colors are great.
