Lace-trim tee (HO14, B8035, $55) runs XXS – XL. Color choices are black and ivory. 100% cotton.
1/28 – currently $39.99 in-store & online.
Size M – ivory – I like the look of the lace. Each time I’ve seen these in the store, they’ve been folded. The lace always catches my eye. Boo on the drop shoulder and width of the sleeve. Too wide. The cotton wasn’t anything to write home about. If it looks like this living at the store, it’s only going to get worse with wear.
Mixed print tee (SP15, C0106, $59.50) runs XXS – XL. Color choices are heather steel ivory (HSI) and navy dust alabaster (NDA). 100% cotton.
Size S – navy dust alabaster – Yay for 100% cotton. Boo on the design. Just no. It doesn’t have shoulder seams, so it might add visual weight to your shoulders. Also, without shoulder seams, there’s that extra dolman material under the arms. This is the type of thing people see on the sale + % off and convince themselves it’s cute. It’s not cute. And it’s not a cute, throw on, “Mom top,” either. My last, low price tops have been from Forever 21. They’re priced great, right out the gate.
Size S – heather steel ivory – Coming from J. Crew, this top is insulting. It’s just bad. This low hanging fruit is spoiled. It has great reviews on jcrew.com. I tried to see this top thru the words the reviewers shared and I’m still not feeling it. Mervyn’s — yes, Mervyn’s came to mind — and this top didn’t pass the test. If you love it, get it. Different strokes for different folks. TTS.
