Linen v-neck pocket in metallic (SP15, C1921, $45) runs XXXS – XL. The color is called metallic gold. 100% linen. Hand wash.
Size S – Metallic. Check. V-neck. Check. This was high up on my wishlist. So when I was at the store I remembered that this was supposed to fit a little loose. It didn’t look loose enough to try sizing down one to XS, so I went for the S. It was tigher than I expected. It has a regular fit to me. The question is whether the linen will stretch out or not.The fabric didn’t feel itchy to me. It didn’t seem to be too see-thru. I would have to try it on again, but based on last week’s try on I would go up one to a M. The size S was too clingy in the stomach area for me.
My shoes are the Anne Klein Petricia and I absolutely love them. They have the heel of the J Crew Janey, but the comfort of the J Crew Cece. I love my Ceces, but I’m not sure I will buy another pair. There’s a little lift to the sole, but they’re still close to the ground. They’ve become park shoes. I should have taken better care of them with leather lotion, but I’m not running into the scuffing problems with the Anne Klein shoes. Although I have to acknowledge that another factor for poor Cece wear was pulling the stroller brake up and pushing it down with my foot. That action took its toll. Anyway, thumbsup on the Petricias. I own 2 pairs and hope to add a couple more.
Drapey double-twill skirt (SP15, $88) runs regular 000 – 16 (C0244), petite 00-12 (C2696) and tall 2-16 (C2697). Color choices are dark cognac, faded cypress (dull, light green), ivory navy and prussian blue. The website says dry clean, which I’ve done with my drapey crepe top from last year. However, the tag in the skirt says machine wash cold, tumble dry low, iron low.
Size 6 – ivory – The drapey twill and drapey crepe items have run a little bit. I don’t know if there was no 4 or try or if the 6 looked like the best size. The fit was fine. With a thick waist, I’m not sure how much tighter I want that waistband to be.
First pic is with the top tucked in. Second pic has the top a little looser and over the waistband. My preferred look. The third pic shows the shirttail hem.
ETA: I didn’t buy this when I tried it on and had no intention on buying it. After it went on sale, I tried it on again and liked it. I was able to style it with items I already had on, see this post. Also I think I’ve lost a few lbs since this review.
Tilly cardigan (C2588, $79.50) runs XXXS – XL. Color choices are heather aluminum, black, heather coral, heather violet, ivory, lemon, mushroom, neon persimmon and vivid ink (dark blue). 100% merino wool.
3/19 – $49.99 online & $59.99 in-store for heather aqua
Size M – heather aqua – I love the Tilly pullover (review), so I really wanted to try the cardigan — in this color. I prefer the pullover. The cardigan is too lightweight for my taste. Like a spring weight. I know duh, it’s a spring item. Nevertheless, it’s not versatile enough for me because it’s not the weight I would want to wear over a buttondown top. The color didn’t disappoint and was exactly as I expected it to be. The sleeves were too long in the M, but sizing down to a S would make it too tight. If you’re in-between sizes and/or have a larger chest you might consider going up a size. Otherwise, it’s tts. Keep it mind that will give it the cropped, fitted look that’s intended.
