Pink floral embroidered top (SP14, A2204, $89.50) – What the what? Sold out already online. It was just released this past Wed. I’ll assume it runs 00-16 like the floral popover reviewed directly below. 100% cotton.
ETA – 5/9 notied that it has been cut to $69.99
Size 6 – The colors are pretty. The coral-y pink is pretty and the contrast w/the blue/& purple colors is nice. I also like how they put it around the armhole and down the sleeves. The neckline fell a little open when unbuttoned and I like that, too. The fabric was very interesting and I liked it. It felt like a gauze, like some of the tunics. However, it felt thicker, like the gauze was doubled. It was really cool. I can see it feeling good in warm temps.
There’s also the flower bud print scarf.
Raglan popover in blue floral (SP14, A1925, $78) runs 00-16. The color is called yacht blue (YBL).
Size 4 – There were clothes left in the fitting room that I used, so I went ahead and tried it on. If I had selected it from the floor myself, I would’ve probably chosen a 6. However, the 4 fit, so I say take the smaller of your 2 sizes if you’re in between. The fabric was nice. Not heavy and not too thin. Some of you will be happy it’s not a bracelet sleeve.
Pretty color. The floral print has an animal graphic flavor to it. Very, very subtle. Some of the petals remind me of leopard paw prints. And if you look at the bottom of the top, one of the flowers looks like the face of a lion. The neckline is meh. I unbuttoned it one more button than pictured. The top started to come alive, but I can’t go around like that. I was unable to get it to sit open so that there was a little bit of skin exposure around the neckline. It was a little regular as-is. A little Misses, if you will. If you don’t have a mom body, it might be more exciting on you.
Pink geo shirtdress (SP14, A0459, $198) runs 00-16. The color is called pink multi (PMU). 100% silk, 100% poly lining.
Size 6 – The silk felt nice. Not too lightweight. The poly lining didn’t feel bad. Of course it would be nice if it weren’t poly. I think my pores get a little tight any time I read the word. This style is similar to last year’s technicolor floral dress. However, they lengthened it this year, which is great. The technicolor fit more like a shirt masquerading as a dress, at least on me. This fits like a dress.
The short sleeves don’t do it for me. Neither does the collar. The top part is cut like a man’s shirt. Check it out on Audreybella.
It buttons all the way down the back. One strategy is to keep the top couple buttoned and slip it overhead.
On the left, unbuttoned. On the right, I’m simply holding it back with my hand. I didn’t want to figure out how to button it myself and risk getting makeup on it. I also didn’t want to call a SA in to help me. I liked the top overall, but have a qualm with the top of the neckline. It sat just a little too high for/on me. When it was unbuttoned I felt like I was in a fancy exam gown. Yes, as in the doctor’s office. Pulled back is way better. The detail is showcased even more.
