Polka-dot Tippi sweater with shoulder buttons (FA15, E2162, $118) runs XXXS – XL. Color choices are ivory black (IBL) and midnight dahlia (MDA). 100% merino wool, exclusive of decoration/trimming, contains non-textile parts of animal origin.
Size S – ivory black – The fit was tts for me. I’m 5’0″ and 34DD. The sleeve hit just above my wrist bone. Not as high as a 3/4 sleeve, but a little longer than what I consider a bracelet sleeve on me.
The wool was more sheer than I’d expect. It’s going to show a darker bra. I’m wearing a black tank on under the sweater. However, you’ll have to pay attention to what undergarments you wear with it. Some of you will do the buttondown-under-sweater thing and that’ll take care of opacity.
Washed lamé pull-on pant (FA15, $98) runs regular 000 – 16 (C9517), petite P000 – P12 (C1709) and tall (E1710). 63% viscose, 25% nylon, 12% poly. Machine washable. Color choices are fatigue (FAT) and metallic champagne (MCH).
Size 6 – metallic champagne – These felt tts to me. Again, 5’0″ and I have a 39″ hip measurement. These have the long, cargo style pockets like many of the print pants we’ve seen this year. I like them ok. Not a slamdunk love, but I’m not averse to them.
The fabric has a rumpled look, but it’s clear that it’s the fabric. I’d be curious to see whether lap wrinkles appear after being seated in the pants for a period of time. They didn’t strike me as particularly dressy and would wear them in the daytime without a 2nd thought. Of course they are good for an evening look as well.
The rear pockets are fine by me. They probably add a little visual oomph that I don’t need. However, I would likely have a top covering the top part of the pockets.
In these pics, I’m in the deck-stripe tee (review). I ordered the lamé pants in the 8P and the shorter length didn’t look good in this color. They looked oddly cropped on me. Keep in mind that my inseam is more average to slightly longer for my height. I think the issue is that the pants don’t taper. If they tapered a little or had an elastic bottom, the petite length (not pictured) would’ve worked. I have since tried on the regular 6 again and that’s the size I would get.
Interestingly, the pants looked good in the fatigue color in 8P. I haven’t seen that color in-store to try the regular 6. Fatigue might be online only.
When I saw these, I immediately thought about the linen-silk city pants from 2009.
The basic concept is the same. Comfortable, pull-on pants. Both are machine wash. I kinda prefer the linen-silk city. They’re a little tighter on me now that I’ve had Mini G, but they’re still doable. I like the elastic on the bottom. It gives it more style and keeps them from look less like pajama pants. That’s it. The lamé pants felt a little like pjs in the champagne color. BTW, I’m selling the Marseilles floral silk cami on my super blowout page for $15.
