Size 6 – misty green – This looked true to size (tts) on the hanger, not oversized so I picked a 6 to try. It size felt right, so it’s tts. I’m 5’0″ and last I measured, my chest was 39″ across the fullest part and 39″ hip. Left pic, if I were to wear flats, which I never would with this dress. Right pic, if I were wearing heels.
Close-up. I really liked how the cutout pattern & scallop details looked. The mint color isn’t a match for my skin tone, but it’s pretty. I’ve learned to stick to aqua and limit mint in the details, if at all.
Yay for no exposed back zip.
It’s another not necessarily flattering dress on me. A shift dress can look flattering, but it has to have seaming to help the cause. There might be a dart on either side of the bust, but there’s no other figure help by way of dress construction. Overall, I did find the dress to be cute and I think there will be fans. I just say…don’t settle.
J. Crew’s stripe midi is 100% poly and runs regular, petite and tall. The regular length is 29″ long and the stripes are navy. Forever 21’s skirt in 100% rayon and 28″ long and the stripes are black. It’s currently sold out, but you can add your email to the waitlist. Items do come thru on the waitlist and tend to sell out within 24 hours. Not that I would have personal experience or anything. lol

My favorite skirt, the textured block print skirt (review), is now $59.99 in-store and online. I went to try it on for the 3rd time (6) and this time the pleating didn’t look so great. I asked my vps what she thought and she said I should pass. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve walked out out of the store with nothing in the past few months.
I’ve been repeating a lot of clothes instead of buying new, subpar ones. And while I haven’t been buying in-store, on occasion I’ll buy things online. I really like the Tilly sweater (review), so I got black in M. I can’t believe they let that stay at the promo price once the code rolled out. It nets $45.50. I also got the Crewcuts glitter pochette in glitter sand and lookout high rise jeans in blacksmith (sz 29). I’m not sure the distressed rips will show on my legs in the right places because they didn’t show up at all in the black distressed toothpicks. But I really love the lookout fit. So if the rips blend together and can’t be seen because my leg length doesn’t stretch out the jeans enough, that will be fine with me.
