I admit I have been sitting on these pics since mid Oct. I wasn’t excited by it and I was sort of waiting for it to show up on the website. Then the other day I looked at the file and thought I had taken pics of the Frances ruffled blouse…
…but it’s not. Suzy over at Bichonluvr’s Closet informed that it’s the Loretta blouse.
I’m pretty sure I tried on a 4. Usually I take a 4 or 6 in button downs, but this was a bit big in the 4. And a wrinkle festival. Oops, I deleted the pic of the ticket. I think it’s $79.50.
Untucked so you can see the length (I’m 5’2″)
Presenting a comp alt –> Old Navy’s pintuck ruffled shirt – $24.50 – I didn’t try it on as I am feeling a big overload of ruffles, but it’s definitely in the same vein as the J Crew Loretta.
Chime in…

p.s. If you are loving the marled cardigan look, I saw the following sweater on Forever 21’s website. Some of their heavyweight cardis are 100% acrylic. This one has some cotton in it — 51% acrylic, 32% cotton, 17% polyester. Haven’t seen this one in person.
Speckled Yarn Cardigan – $24.80
As a refresher, here is J Crew’s marled wool cardi (20270) – $98
Lol, a wrinkle festival! Looks pretty on you though Gigi.
Thanks for the tips on alternatives to jcrew. I really like that F21 sweater.
i really like the JC one. Like, dangerously so. I wish I hadn't seen it, aarrrggh! LOL
Thanks for visiting!
Elaine – It's not that exciting in person. Avert thine eyes 😉
Hm. I snagged the Ann Taylor Tuxedo Cotton Blouse a few days back, and I love it. It's very similar, but a little more neat and toned down.
Chloe – The AT blouse is beautiful. Thanks for dropping the link.
God this top is a sea of ruffles. I love ruffles but these just seem too overwhelming.
Thanks for the review.
This blouse showed up at my local B&M with the last rollout. I sized down based on the look of the top and it was still too baggy in a 2. I actually think the ruffles look better in the photos gigi took than they did in person. This was just a sloppy mess on me. The fabric is cheap and the ruffles are unfinished looking.
I love my white Frances though…
Rosa – I'll be curious to see if it ends up on the sale rack.
kitsmommy – Cheap. Yes, I agree that it looked cheap on the hanger. I felt like it was something I might find at Ross. That could largely have to do w/the fact that they didn't steam it. However, it's it also thin.
