J Crew’s scout chinos (17726) had an original retail of $69.50 and are down to $29.99. I saw them on 10/19 in-store for $19.99.
The broken-in boyfriend chinos were also down to $19.99, even though the tag says $49.99. You can always have them price check @ the register. The scout chino comes in nickel (pale grey), pebble (light khaki tan) & light khaki. FYI, the nickel has a greenish tint to the grey. Not bad. Just sayin’
Size 6 – They look fitted, but they’re not. My experience w/chinos is that they stretch out a bit when wearing, so I went for a 4. The waist was already too big on the 6.
You don’t have to do any work. They come distressed for you. If I had ordered these online & received them, I would have been irritated. I’m glad I saw this in-person. At full price it would have bothered me. On super sale, I’m cool with it.
I am really happy these worked. I find myself in jeans waaaay too often. I had a few pairs of J Crew’s chinos, but I wasn’t wearing them. I finally figured out that they sort of bell. Either that or they are just really straight and there is no taper whatsoever. I had to take them back (NWT, of course). I need a casual pant I can run around in or dress up and the scout chinos fit the bill. I have to say I only envision them rolled, so I will won’t be wearing them in wintertime. Right now me likey very much!
Check them out on ABC.
p.s. I wore them yesterday — love, love, love and yes, they stretched out a little in the waist so I’m happy w/the size 4.
p.p.s. There is Cullen cashmere boutique on Rue La La. I haven’t tried this brand myself. They have some v-necks and crewnecks for $69. The following ruffle cashmere sweater is $99.
