J Crew’s swiss-dot chiffon dress (29462, $350) runs 0-14. I’m not sure if it started at 00. The colors is called warm ivory. It’s now $249.99 online.
The dress I ordered arrived in a garment bag. This is a first!
Size 8 – I had no illusions about size. I went straight for the 8. There’s a size zip. You still need to pull it overhead. I couldn’t get it all the way up, unfortunately for picture(s) sake.
I’m not sure I like the neck tie un-tied. It’s not a wide tie, but it is silk and felt nice. I like ties and sashes wide enough to make a more substantial bow or tie. I get the slimmer look, though.
Here it is with the tie just looped over once. You definitely need to play around with this one.
There are fastener thingies for your bra straps.
Close up of the bodice. The neckline isn’t too low. That’s an improvement over most J Crew dresses. There are pleats and the sides are finished with a ruffle. I think they’re actually unfinished ruffles, but I don’t recall exactly. They didn’t look as ratty or unfinished as some of the other items we’ve seen from JC w/this detail.
The poly lining. As you have seen and can see, this dress is a decent length. Remember I’m 5’2″.
I hope longer hemlines and higher necklines are what we’ll see more of in the J Crew dress department.
