J Crew’s tiered linen playa dress (15191) retails for $138. It runs numeric from 2-14. The color choices are papaya and white.
Size 4 – When I tried it on I got a big smile. It felt great — like I was wearing a beautiful cupcake. It felt great on and very forgiving. I was feeling tempted. My PS wasn’t impressed. *lol* I love how tactfully honest she is. Usually it’s just a look on her face that says it all.
Not bad from the side. I was still feeling encouraged by this beauty. Of course I was remembering the white BR outlet linen dress I recently purchased.
Had to try it w/a Jackie in Breeze. I think this could work w/flat sandals and rolled Jackie sleeves like Joyce. But for the most part the tiers are lost w/the cardi. Maybe this calls for a shrug, instead.
The shoulder straps were loose and at first I thought there was no way to adjust them. Which was gonna be a big boo! Then I saw this. So you adjust it by selecting a different buttonhole. That’s different.
As seen on Summerilla.
J’adorethesestores also reviewed the dress here. I didn’t get it. Even with the 25% crewpon (I tried it on last week). If I were to get it, I’d want to try the 2 because I think there is some room in this one. I don’t think I will consider this — not even on sale, only because I own the BR dress, as stated above, and I also have this linen blend shift dress coming in white. I loved the way I felt in it and if I didn’t have those dresses I probably would have gotten this even though it’s not a classic. I think the tiers will look dated at some point. Then come back in style, right? *lol*
So, so….whaddya think? Chime in…
