Tippi sweater in gingham (SP15, $85) runs regular XXXS – XXL (F0534) and petite PXS – PXL (F3047). Color choices are caravan blue, rusty brown and vivid canary. However, the petite is only available in caravan blue. I forgot to check the fabric content. My guess is cotton or a cotton blend. Note that I only saw the caravan blue in store, not the other two colors. They might be online only.
Size S – caravan blue – The fabric feels loose and so does the silhouette. There was no M to try, but I didn’t think the S would be this fitted. It’s fitted on me, but I’d say it runs tts. I would probably get a medium.
There’s some unhappiness about this shade of blue. I like it. The sweater is hand-printed, so no two are alike. The qualm I have with it is that the lines aren’t clean and look a little splotchy. There are toys strewn about in one of our main rooms, but that doesn’t stop me from being OCD about details like this. Don’t get me wrong. The print is cool and the sweater is cool. I just didn’t get the feeling when I tried it on. I might try the rusty brown at a later point in time. I don’t have a burning interest right now.
Leave it to J. Crew to inject freshness to a classic print. Not a personal love for me at the moment, but I do like the concept. Saw it on one of my favorite sales associates. She had a white cami under and wore it with white pants. Didn’t notice her shoes.
This thumbsup brought to you by Mini G. Paid for in 1.5 mini brownies.

Deck striped-tshirt (E1143, $49.50) runs regular XXXS – XXL. Color choices are ivory honey brown, ivory navy, navy ivory and undyed shell pink. Three of the color choices have stripes the same as the t-shirt I’m reviewing here. The navy ivory has wider, rugby style stripes.
Size XS – undyed shell pink – The t-shirt was fitted in the arms, but there’s still slack in the body. Based on my experience with one of the turtlenecks from last fall/winter, I would stick with the XS. The S I bought in that turtleneck stretched out way too much when I wore it.
I don’t mind the drop-sleeve in this. It more or less blends into the top. at least in this color. I’ve gotten rid of most pink in my wardrobe, but I would gladly put this in rotation. I like it with the green pants I had on this day.
Nice, mid-weight fabric. Casual look, but not sloppy.
Spring 2016 Reviews
* Midi skirt in ornate lace – The navy is the skirt version of the dress (reviewed below). I tried on the white, sz 6. Another one where the scale doesn’t work on a petite frame. TTS, though. It’s a great, lightweight skirt. Should take you from the warmer spring months to early summer. There’s a circle detail at the hem that I like. Thumbsup.
* Presentation dress – It’s a shift and has a little bit of shape to it. It’s still gonna be a shift, though. The bows are cute. I like the v-neck. The blue is beautiful. It felt just a little like a baby doll dress. I didn’t feel particularly mature or sophisticated. That’s a personal issue for me given my height. I don’t need to look mature, per se, but I don’t want to look like I’m in a baby’s style. The regular 6 looked and felt good. The fabric weight is nice and so is the fabric weave. It’s a good dress for a number of occasions, particularly helping you easily look polished when you don’t want to struggle to look and feel good. I might try it on in black if I see it makes a difference in how I feel about it. Thumbsup.
* Short-sleeve shift dress in ornate lace – I believe I tried a regular 6 in this, too and it ran tts. The idea makes me think of J Crew 2008, which I loved. The print seems really busy, though. Almost too much going on. I don’t recall the rating off hand, but probably a thumbsup. The dress is lightweight, but seems to be well done. It’s not a match for me, but some will love it. It has potential.
