J Crew’s café capri in wool (regular 49398, petite 51414, tall 51415, $128) come in black, dark saffron, dublin green, guava, heather grey, iced lilac (pictured), modern red, navy, retro grade and saddle.
Size 4 – Waist = 32″, Hips = 39″
Size 6 – Waist = 33″, Hips = 40″
Size 6P – Waist = 32″, Hips = 39″, Thigh = 24″
Size 8P – Waist = 33″, Hips = 40″, Thigh = 24.75″
A closer view. The shell is by Banana Republic from earlier this year.
Size 6 seems to be the best size for me in the capris in wool. The rise isn’t that much shorter in the petite length, but the overall smaller cut of the petite doesn’t feel right and probably looks too tight. The ones in this pic are regular 6, just to be clear.
Consider cords if you don’t like the unlined capris
Instead of getting these wool capris. I got some ankle stretch cords in a very similar color, from the Factory store earlier this month. I don’t see them online, but I highly recommend them.
ETA: I was falling asleep when I wrote this post. I almost bonked my head on my computer a few times, so I had to go to bed. I wanted to reiterate that the wool capris are not lined. In this post on The Mothership, Whitney (blog) shared that she wrote Mickey Drexler about the lack of lining. The discussion was interested and reminded me that the Factory skimmers are lined. This year’s skimmers are and last year’s Factory blackwatch plaid trousers were lined. Doh! It’s not that hard, J Crew.
