I recently hit up a J’Crewlet. This is what I could eek out before MOREPLEASE for 25% off ends.
Skimmer pant in dot-dot dash (37493, $69.50) – Size 6 – Now $29.99 online. This is the size I usually take in J Crew pants, retail & Factory. This is the Factory version of the retail Morse code capris. According to signage, skimmers were 50% off and these rang up for about 40% off. So watch those electronic pads while they’re ringing and know your net prices before you get to it. Or check your receipt before leaving the store or outlet center. These might end up going for a low price online, so you might want to hold out.
ETA: These are unlined. I took an 8 in the FA12 Factory wool skimmers because they were lined. These are unlined, so my usual size 6 fit.
I held up the Factory downtown field jacket next to them. With navy? Check. I don’t like the downtown field in navy w/those gold buttons. Size S fits best. Review coming.
I like the skimmer length with flats and –> tip toe time — will look good with a low heel if I choose.
Gold-plated chainlink necklace (01897, $69.50) – I passed this by as the jewelry signage ‘only’ said 20% off. I also figured it was lightweight & would feel cheap. Later I noticed it again and that the opening price was $59.50. The weight felt heavy, so I tried it on. Geek alert. An ‘authentic’ retail bubble necklace weight 5.2 oz. This necklace weighs 6.6 oz. The necklace was $47.60 in-store on 3/4. I saved an addtl 10% off with an outlet coupon, bringing it to $42.84. It was $44.50 online at that time. The store said they don’t match online prices and that may be because of the outlet coupon that’s always available. Be sure to stop by Guest Services at your outlet center to pick up a coupon book before shopping.
In the middle of the necklace, the links are intertwined with each other. At the ends of the necklace, there is a jump ring between each of the links. This was probably a cost cutting measure because a couple fewer links are required with the jump rings in place. However, I like the design it creates. It’s very subtle. Like you don’t know quite what makes it a little special until you examine it closely.
Abstract flower bib necklace (01907, $49.50) – Reincarnation of the retail tessellate necklace, which I have and love.
ETA: Thank you, injanuity, for sharing an irl pic of the stone and flower bib necklace. Was this available online & sold out? I know some JCAs have hunted them down in the Factory stores, so they’re still available there. I didn’t see it at my local one.
Leather envelope clutch (51632, $74) – I have a couple of leather Invitation clutches and the leather & handbag weight on this felt similar. I was impressed with the one I held up. Too bad the color choice is very limited and nothing basic.
I bought three things at the Factory store and was dismayed to arrive home and see/remember the 25% off sitewide. However, when I did the math, I actually paid only $5 more or less than I would’ve online after the outlet coupon was applied. I’m not sure how the math ended up working out that way, but I know one thing. After yesterday, I will be absolutely sure to do my homework before shopping in-store again. I was unable to access the Internet while I was out there and didn’t have a clue about online pricing. The Factory store is not too far, but in many cases it’s too out of the way for me to consider the buy-return game.
Thanks for stopping by…
