It’s that time of year. We get to see a slew of fitness commercials. Diet commercials, including the Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet (ok, that’s marketing genius). Make plans to stop smoking. Meet That Special Someone. And so on. I never have been into New Year’s resolutions. I’m with other bloggers & readers that have discussed making goals instead. I do that at any point, on any day of the year. I try to live without regret. I tend to look back on the previous year and celebrate what I have accomplished, accept my choices without too much regret and be thankful for the tough challenges I survived. However, I concede that the new year always feels special, quiet and fresh. Right now I don’t feel particularly reflectful about last year. Tee hee hee…I love non-existent word variations. Yeah, not feeling really reflectful right now but *do* I feel poised to make some things happen for 2010. The ones I want to share right now are home related.
1) Recessed lighting
2) Paint the house
3) Landscape the backyard
4) Swap tile for hardwood
5) New carpet – limped thru Lowe’s yesterday w/G Money to start pricing as I’ve never purchased any before. And we…well…he wrapped our hot water heater w/insulation. It lives outside.
We’ve been in our house for awhile now and have done at least once project/year. We’ve been doing ok (laundry room re-do – woohoo!), but I want to bump it up now so I feel comfortable having people over more often. G Money likes to do things around the house & he is more than handy, has all the tools, etc.. However, if I have to pay someone to do it, I will.
What are your goals or resolutions for 2010? Chime in…
