GMoney’s every day wardrobe consists of cargo shorts, cargo pants and jeans. He pairs them with short/long sleeve tees, short/long button down shirts and zip jackets/sweaters. Basically, shirt + pants + shoes. No logos, no graphics. Sorry, you will not catch him in super skinny jeans, vests, scarves or anything resembling a magazine styling. I finally figured out what he likes and the wardrobe blend is from Old Navy, Banana Republic and J Crew. Everything looks put together and he often looks like he stepped out of one of their ads. That works for me.
When I’m out and about I don’t look regularly for clothes for GMoney. I just replace the things he needs when they begin showing wear. However, with all of the fabulous offerings from Target lately, I decided to cruise through the men’s department. Without further ado, here is my first post dedicated to the fellas.
Target’s Merona linen shirt retails for $21.99 (S-XL) and $23.99 (XXL) – GMoney is a bit barrel chested and usually wears a large. I purchased this for him in a medium. The large looked huge and I like his tops more fitted than he does. Tee hee hee hee hee hee. But really, I think this one runs a size large. The fabric is 100% linen.
This is the shirt J Crew meant to make for us in their selvedge chambray offering. The linen on this one is fluid and this particular color is divine. Not prison like at all. It comes in a pale blue, white, light khaki tan and (I think) black. Think about buying it for your man and admiring it on him. Or Father’s Day is coming up, if you have an uncle, brother or friend to buy for.
An alternative is Old Navy’s linen blend button front shirt, $24.50, currently on promo for $20. I love this color, dark roast coffee. It comes in a total of 6 colors. The fabric blend is 55% linen, 45% cotton. It’s not as fluid as the Merona shirt, but it’s nice. Washes well.
Or Old Navy’s linen blend short sleeve button front shirt, $19.50, currently on promo for $15. The fabric blend is 55% linen, 45% cotton. Same thing here. Not as fluid as the 100% Merona, but washes & wears well in my experience. We throw these suckers right in the dryer. GMoney takes a large in Old Navy.
In the future I’ll try to remember to look for men’s items and post them on Mondays. I have no current plans to do it every Monday. Obviously I won’t be trying these on. I’ve already solicited GMoney to model and got denied. That won’t stop me from trying in the future, of course.
