Gauzy striped buttondown (953908, $24.94) – Size S – TTS to just a little loose. I wouldn’t size down, personally. this has been out for a couple of weeks and hasn’t show up online. Usually items are both available online & in-store. I suppose there’s a chance it could be online only. The online vs in-store releases usually aren’t too too far apart.
The material is 100% cotton. A little gauzy, but there’s 2 layers. I liked it and got it. Check it out It’s Mostly About Fashion (pic 4).
Printed shirt (920340, $24.94) – Size S – There’s this bicycle print with a white background. It’s also available in a pink background, which looks really cute. The bike print is not available in tall or petite sizes. Other print choices include Liberty lookalikes.
Lightweight printed shirt (952603, $24.94) – Size S – Red anchor charm is the color name. It was pretty thin. Like mid-spring and later thin. Would be good for layering under, but you’ll need warmer weather to wear it solo.
Lightweight printed shirt (952603, $24.94) – Size S – This one is called anchor blue. There’s also a stars blue, which is pale blue with very small dots that I suppose are stars.
The blue was a better color for me. I didn’t like the different sized anchor. I made me think of a Joker costume. I know those are question marks, but work with me.
Fit-and-flare ponte knit skirt (968318, $26.94) – Size M – I liked the way the M fit, so I didn’t even bother trying the S I’d also brought into the room. This one comes in black (pictured) and charcoal grey.
Old Navy wins, imo. Fabric first. The ON version is 73% poly, 23% rayon, 4% spandex. The J Crew option is poly/viscose with a hint of strech. The ON skirt has a seam that runs horizontal atthe top 1/3 of the skirt. The J Crew skirt has a seam that runs down the front middle and a horizontal seam that runs half-way down the skirt and 3/4 the way around, from what I can tell by the pics. I like the fewer seams of the ON version. Also, I like the slightly swingier, skater skirt vs the fluted one. I didn’t feel a costume vibe when I had the ON one on. I haven’t tried the J Crew version.
ETA: regretfully couldn’t make it work for me. They nailed it w/the fun, flirty skirt. You can position it high on the torso, or lower. If my stomach were in-shape it would be an easy ‘do’ with a Tippi. Alas, it is not.
* Lightweight tie-waist jacket (arugula pic & basswood brown pic) – TTS. Another anorak type jacket that we’ve been seeing for a couple few years now. This one about the length of J Crew’s downtown field. The style is less structured than that jacket. Like I said, anorak. Thumbsup on this one. As I stated on my instapic, it’s very thin. Think mid to late spring.
* Striped jersey-stretch shift dress (Instapic) – I tried S and M. The pic is of the S. I think the dress is TTS, but it will give you a more fitted look. If you have a large chest or other curves, you might size up one to give a little slack and have room if there is any shrinkage. Personally, I would pass altogether since it’s fitted. If you’re taller, you will appreciate that this one doesn’t short off w/a too-short length.
* Chunky slub-knit sweater (light brown stripe & navy stripe) – TTS – This is 59% cotton, 41% acrylic. It was soft and I didn’t notice any shedding when I tried it on. I don’t know if I’d buy it personally, because I’m sure I have something similar. It was a little see-thru and lightweight. It’s for warmer weather.
