Rodarte for Target hit last Sunday, 12/20. Some Targets popped up the in-store boutiques a few days early. I had my mom at Target on Sat looking at items. The conversation from her end included, “looks like something from the ghetto…I don’t know…(laughter, laughter)…cucka bugs…(more whooping laughter)…ok, I can see you in this…no I don’t think a large, there’s no medium.”
Mom ended up purchasing one thing and I told her not to worry about the rest. The back-and-forth descriptions weren’t working on the phone. I was trying to describe based on what I saw on the blogs and she was busy laughing. She ended up returning the cardi or whatever it was because I stayed up until midnite and was rewarded w/the pieces up for sale right at 12:01am. Target did the next-day air on my order (woo hoo) and here are my thoughts about what I’ve tried:
Lace Print with Bow Top – Black/Oxford Tan – $14.99 – The medium is a little big but drapes well & me looks thin. I’m hanging onto it until I receive the small. Definitely a keeper. The bow is not the highest quality, but it works from afar. It’s a pin and removable.
Crepe Lace Print Dress – Oxford Tan/Black – $34.99 – M was too big and I was elated to be able to re-order the S online. I really love this print, though, and was considering alterations. That dagnabit elastic waist is a bit of a pickle. I am wondering if I can remove the elastic altogether and have it be a straight dress. I’ll investigate once I decide which size I’m keeping. I think it’ll be the S, though.
Crepe Floral Wrap Dress – Coral – $39.99 – Any way you cut it, it just looks like-a robe imo. I thought maybe on a different skin colors it might look different but it’s the color of the dress itself that just looks robe-like. Too bad because the concept is great.
Mesh Lace Cardigan – Oxford Tan – $29.99 -This one is sold out online. The M was definitely too big. I ordered a S on the same ticket and it fits. I’m just not sure it’s a keeper. It’s sheer & thin. It could look really cool over the right top or dress, but I dunno about adding necklaces & such because they might snag the material. I’m on the fence about keeping this one.
Juniors Mesh Lace Floral Design Top – Chesterfield Navy – $16.99 – This has gotten good reviews overall on the blogs, but I didn’t try this one. Surely a hit or miss for some.
Swiss Dot Dress – Blue – $39.99 – I didn’t try this one. It looks cute on bloggers I’ve seen.
