The leather on the Madewell coat looks gorgeous. I suspect the leather sleeves on the French Connection coat are also nice. The lengths appear to be about the same. Both coats also appear to have at least a slight a-line hem. The major difference is in the shoulders. Madewell has the baseball sleeve with no seam circling the under arm. I find the baseball style hit or miss on me. It can make one’s shoulders look larger. I like the buttons down the front and the whole concept overall. The French Connection jacket is more refined with shoulder seams creating a slimmer width than its competitor and the placket hiding the buttons. I love the sale price of the French Connection, half the price of Madewell’s. However, the Madewell style calls my name louder. Split decision.
I love coats
And apparently I fancy myself in a tough, action movie of some sort.
YESPLEASE for 25% off select sweaters and boots ends today at Madewell. I like the cityblock turtleneck sweater. The wide stripe of green might not work on a fuller chest, but I like the color and the design. The colorblock Reid booties look divine.
Today is George’s birthday. I bought him some shoes from Macy’s and highlighted some of their mens sale shoes on 1060 Pairs. There’s a beautiful red pair of Pumas (he won’t wear) for $35.
