J Crew’s No. 2 pencil skirt in double-serge cotton (regular 36551, petite 22099, $110) is currently in promo for $89.50 in select colors. What goes with the bright indigo? Apparently everything.
… the Liberty shirt in Tresco floral (6) – I like the print on this shirt quite a bit. The colors are vibrant and pretty, in a classic way. It should go in and out of style; not look dated. Luckily I already have & love my Old Navy Liberty-like top. Yes, the cut & fit are more refined on the Liberty, but the price is better for me at ON. I’m wearing a 6 in the skirt. Check out this double-serge skirt on 1 More Shopping Blog and on Judicious Shopaholic (melon).
…the maritime blazer in stripe (S) did not work over the Tresco & bright indigo. I felt like I was trying too hard, even though the idea is interesting. I like the fit and feel of the maritime. I didn’t like the feel of the Factory maritime ($98) and would rather pay for the retail version.
…the bazaar print silk popover (21191, $175)
which I don’t see online & don’t recall the name of. This is a size 4. The arms and upper back were just a little snug, but not bad. I would try a size 6 to be sure, but am guessing I’d end up preferring the 4. Check it out on Ema.
… lightweight boy shirt in stripe (91849, $78), also reviewed on J Crew Is My Favorite Store – 100% cotton, I like this one. I’m wearing size 6, which has been my JC shirt size most often these days.
…collection cashmere featherweight cardigan in tonal stripe (37390, $139.99 online, $129.99 in-store) – Size S. That’s the Liberty shirt in Tresco floral again.
In case you missed it, I’m wearing a size 6 in the skirt in these pics. I liked the fit and the length. I often sometimes prefer regular tops & bottoms, even though I’m a petite (5’2″). I believe the skirt is lined, so if you’re on the fence you may need the larger of your two sizes. I don’t have any plans to get this skirt but I enjoyed playing with combos. It gave me new ideas for a pair of cobalt jeans that I could get more use out of.
ETA: There’s also a factory double-serge pencil skirt ($75), which is on promo for $45 as of 3/8. A similar blue color is available.
