J Crew’s Gwendolyn wedges (24586, $268) come in antique stone, black, deep violet and neon papaya. They’re on sale online for $219.99 and were the same price in-store on 3/21. Whole sizes 6-12. ETA -> I saw half sizes in the Gwendolyn in San Francisco on April 4. Black, deep violet and neon papaya are available in-store. It appears that antique stone may be an online only color.
ETA: Cut to $69.99 in-store on 6/26
Size 8 – antique stone. I wear 7.5, so went up to the 8 that’s available. It’s only in whole sizes. The neon papaya is brriiiiight, strong and vibrant. I’m not sure I could pull that off. Deep violet is nice, dark, but would be a nice accent w/other JC pieces as they usually mix and match very well.
I like the beige color. Not pink or rose toned, which is good because I have no pink or red in my skin tone.
I find wedges very comfortable and these feel as comfortable as the Martina patent wedges (dark flannel on sale). I would be sure to use my Band-Aid blister block to ensure there was no blister causing friction. Yes, that stuff totally works. I have tried using different lotions & coconut oil, but it’s not the same as the block.
I had to undo all the straps to get in comfortably. I was able to get out of the shoe by undoing only 2 of the 3 straps. I would buckle the strap one tighter at the ankle.
ETA: Look really closely and you can see the Gwendolyn wedges in deep violet. I broke my camera on that day and forgot to get pics w/my cell phone.
